긁어냄의 미학.

 

세밀하게 몽글거리고 나뉘어있는 수술을 표현하기가

잘 긁어내야 한다. 

그림의 또 다른 기법이 긁어내기이다. 

 

도구가 요구되기도 한다. 

 

바르고 칠하고 뭔가 더하기만 하는 듯 하지만

그림엔 상당수가 잘 드러내고 빼야 하는 예술이다.

조각에도 그렇지 않나? 잘 깍고 다지고 해야 좋은 예술이 되듯이 말이다. 

그림도 더하고 덧붙이는 것만이 아닌 파내고 긁어내면서 창조해야 함이다. 

 

이 작품이 그러하다. 

잘 긁어내야 했다. 

다 칠하고 다시 칠한 놈에서 잘 긁어내야 한다. 

 

인생사도 그러하다. 

더하고 더하고 더하기만 하면 더 커지고 높아지지라 생각들 한다. 

아니다. 빼고 빼면서 긁어가면서 깍아가면서 슬림해지면서 나아지는 것이다. 

몸무게만 해도 그러하지 않던가?

더하기만 하면 죽는다. 

빼고 빼서 적절히 슬림해야 유연하고 빠르게 된다.

Isn't that true of sculpture? Just as it is good art when you shave and mince well.
