This work emerges from a recognition I’ve come to accept over time: life is rarely the result of design, but more often shaped by accident, interruption, and tension. In Artificial and Naturally Impromptu 02, I chose not to resolve these forces, but to let them collide—visibly, and without conclusion. Paint was allowed to drip, lines were left ambiguous, and any structure that began to form was gently broken.

At the same time, I introduced subtle patterns—echoes of artificiality—not to impose order, but to underscore its absence. This piece is not about harmony or clarity. It offers a space where fragmentation, contradiction, and unpredictability can exist without needing to be explained. The materials themselves—acrylic, charcoal, oil pastel—carry this tension. What remains is not a polished gesture, but an honest one.

 

이 작업은 내가 오랜 시간 끝내 받아들이게 된 한 가지 사실에서 출발한다.
삶은 계획대로 흘러가기보다는, 우연과 단절, 긴장감 속에서 형성되어간다.

《Artificial and Naturally Impromptu 02》에서 나는 이 힘들을 해결하려 하지 않고, 오히려 충돌하도록 그대로 두었다.
물감은 흘러내리도록 했고, 선은 의도적으로 모호하게 남겼으며, 생성되려는 구조는 조용히 무너뜨렸다.

동시에 나는 미묘한 인공적 패턴을 삽입했다. 그것은 질서를 회복하기 위함이 아니라, 질서의 부재를 더욱 분명히 드러내기 위해서였다.
이 작품은 조화나 명료함을 말하지 않는다.
대신, 파편성과 모순, 예측 불가능한 것들이 굳이 설명되지 않고도 머물 수 있는 공간을 제안한다.

재료들—아크릴, 목탄, 오일파스텔—또한 그 긴장을 품고 있다.
여기 남겨진 것은 매끄러운 제스처가 아니라, 정직한 흔적이다.
