이 작업은 인간 의식의 시간적 변곡점을 물질적 은유로 탐구한다.
하단의 금박은 의도적 부식을 통해 프리모던 시대의 이중성을 드러낸다. 흙 안료를 압착하고 균열을 유도하여, 신본주의적 권위가 지닌 숭고함과 개별성에 대한 억압을 동시에 담았다. 바로 그 틈새에서 최초의 저항적 날갯짓이 시작된다. 중앙부는 근현대 휴머니즘의 역동적 전개를 구현하며, 개별성이 문명적 동력임을 발견한 시대의 폭발력을 보여준다. 자신감 있는 먹선들이 세포적 매트릭스를 구축하고, 그 안에서 색채들은 고유한 리듬으로 호흡한다. 적신 한지에 전통 석채를 떨어뜨리면 물성의 자발적 상호작용이 일어나는데, 이 예측 불가능한 색채의 변주는 의식의 자연발생적 출현과 형이상학적 상응을 이룬다. 각 세포는 잠재하는 난자, 각성하는 유충, 탐식하는 송충이, 침묵하는 용화에 이르는 변용의 전 스펙트럼을 내포한다. 순수한 개별적 에센스를 표상하는 황금점들과 이들을 잇는 검은 신경망은, 진정한 개별성이 관계적 맥락 속에서만 실현된다는 존재론적 역설을 시각화한다. 상단부는 다른 시간적 레지스터로 전환한다. 감청색 분채와 아교의 결합은 테크노피아의 유혹적 약속을 품는 동시에 은밀한 경고를 내장한다. 바로 알고리즘적 중재가 개별성마저 표준화시킬 위험이다. 황금선들은 인간적 성취가 아닌 기계적 최적화의 현현이 되고, 인간성의 핵심인 황금점들은 공허해진다. 물질 자체가 시간의 증언자다. 젖은 한지의 해체와 재구성은 전통의 창조적 파괴를 은유하고, 산업폐기물조차 예술적 변환을 통해 새로운 존재론적 지위를 획득한다. 이 작업은 존재론적 위치성을 묻는다. 당신의 의식은 시간의 어느 지층에 정박해 있으며, 그 심연의 황금점은 아직 변용의 날개를 품고 있는가.

This work explores the temporal turning points of human consciousness through material metaphor. The corroded gold leaf at the bottom reveals the duality of the premodern era, compressing earth pigments to induce cracks that embody the sublimity and oppression of theocentric authority. From these fissures emerges the first resistant flutter of wings. The central section manifests the dynamic evolution of modern humanism, where individuality becomes a civilizational force. Confident ink strokes form a cellular matrix, with colors breathing in unique rhythms. Dripping traditional mineral pigments onto wetted hanji sparks spontaneous interactions, reflecting consciousness’s emergent nature and metaphysical resonance. Each cell spans the spectrum of metamorphosis—from ova to chrysalis. Golden points signify pure essence, yet their resonance through a black neural network reveals the paradox that individuality thrives only in relational contexts. The upper section shifts to a new temporal register, where cobalt powder and glue suggest technopia’s allure alongside a warning of algorithmic standardization. Materials—dismantled hanji, transformed Styrofoam—testify to time, posing the question: In which stratum does your consciousness reside, and do its golden points still hold wings of metamorphosis?

Can the sedimentary layers of time be translated into the language of painting? This work originates from such a contemplation, embodying the existential turning points of human consciousness through a material archaeology. The gold leaf at the bottom, intentionally corroded, reveals the duality of premodern absoluteness. By compressing earth pigments to induce oxidation and cracks, it simultaneously encapsulates the sublimity and oppression inherent in the theocentric era—when divine revelation and doctrinal authority silenced individual existence. Yet, it is from these fractured crevices that the first flutter of wings begins, traces of rare souls who defied gravitational conformity to proclaim their singularity.
The central section captures the explosive unfolding of modern humanism, a period when individuality was recognized not as chaos but as a civilizational force. Confident ink strokes construct a vast cellular matrix, within which colors breathe in unique rhythms while preserving an organic wholeness. In this pictorial realization, technique and thought converge. When traditional mineral pigments are dripped onto thoroughly wetted hanji paper, the materials engage in spontaneous interaction, yielding unpredictable chromatic variations that mirror the emergent nature of consciousness and its metaphysical resonance. Each cell embodies the full spectrum of metamorphosis—from latent ova to awakening larvae, voracious caterpillars, and silent chrysalises.
At its core are the golden points, representing the pure essence of individuality—crystallizations of motive persisting beyond external conditions. Yet, they are not isolated monads. Resonating through a black neural network, they visualize the existential paradox that true individuality is fully realized only within a relational context. As the composition ascends, the canvas shifts to a different temporal register. The luminous diffusion of cobalt powder and glue evokes the seductive promises of technopia, yet harbors a subtle warning: the risk of algorithmic mediation standardizing even individual expression, and the potential for digital efficiency to hollow out the humanistic essence. And do the golden points dormant in its depths still harbor wings of metamorphosis?
